Լինում է, չի լինում՝ մի պառավ․ էս պառավն իր էծը կթում է, կաթը վեր դնում, գնում է ցախ ու փետ բերի, որ կրակ անի, կաթն եփի։
Մի աղվես գալիս է, գլուխը կոխում կաթնի ամանը, ուտում։
Պառավը վրա է հասնում, ցաքատով տալիս է, աղվեսի պոչը կտրում։
Պոչատ աղվեսը փախչում է, գնում է մի քարի վրա կանգնում ու էսպես խնդրում․
Տատիկ, տատիկ, պոչս տուր, կցեմ, կցմցեմ, գնամ ընկերներիս հասնեմ, որ ինձ չասեն՝ պոչատ աղվես, ո՞րտեղ էիր։

English:
Once upon time, there was an old woman. This old woman was milking her goat. She put the milk aside and went to gather twigs and brush to make a fire and boil the milk.
A fox came, stuck his head into the milk container, and ate.
The old woman came upon him, hit him with a hoe, and cut off the fox’s tail.
The tailless fox ran away, went and stood on a rock, and begged like this:
Granny, Granny, give me my tail, I’ll stick it on, I’ll patch it up, and I’ll go catch up with my friends so they won’t say to me: “Tailless fox, where were you?”

Պառավն ասում է․
Դե գնա իմ կաթը բե՛ր։
Աղվեսը գնում է կովի մոտ։
Կովիկ, կովիկ, կա՛թ տուր ինձ, կաթը տանեմ պառավին տամ, պառավը պոչս տա, կցեմ, կցմցեմ, գնամ ընկերներիս հասնեմ, որ ինձ չասեն՝ պոչատ աղվես, ո՞րտեղ էիր։
Կովն ասում է․
Դե գնա ինձ համար խո՛տ բեր։
Աղվեսը գնում է արտի մոտ։
Արտիկ, արտիկ, խո՛տ տուր ինձ, խոտը տանեմ կովին տամ, կովը ինձ կաթ տա, կաթը տանեմ պառավին տամ, պառավը պոչս տա, կցեմ, կցմցեմ, գնամ ընկերներիս հասնեմ, որ ինձ չասեն՝ պոչատ աղվես, ո՞րտեղ էիր։

English:
The old woman said:
Well then, go bring my milk.
The fox went to the cow.
Cow, dear cow, give me milk. I’ll take the milk to the old woman, the old woman will give me my tail, I’ll stick it on, I’ll patch it up, and I’ll go catch up with my friends so they won’t say to me: “Tailless fox, where were you?”
The cow said:
Well then, go bring me some grass.
The fox went to the field.
Field, dear field, give me grass. I’ll take the grass to the cow, the cow will give me milk, I’ll take the milk to the old woman, the old woman will give me my tail, I’ll stick it on, I’ll patch it up, and I’ll go catch up with my friends so they won’t say to me: “Tailless fox, where were you?”

Armenian:
Դե գնա ինձ համար ջուր բեր։
Աղվեսը գնում է աղբյուրի մոտ։
-Աղբյուր, աղբյուր, ջո՛ւր տուր ինձ, ջուրը տանեմ արտին տամ, արտը ինձ խոտ տա․ խոտը տանեմ կովին տամ, կովը ինձ կաթ տա․ կաթը տանեմ պառավին տամ, պառավը պոչս տա, կցեմ, կցմցեմ, գնամ ընկերներիս հասնեմ, որ ինձ չասեն՝ պոչատ աղվես, ո՞րտեղ էիր։
Աղբյուրն ասում է․
Դե գնա կուժ բեր։
Աղվեսը գնում է աղջկա մոտ։
Աղջիկ, աղջիկ, կո՛ւժդ տուր, կուժը տանեմ աղբյուրին տամ, աղբյուրը ինձ ջուր տա․ ջուրը տանեմ արտին տամ, արտը ինձ խոտ տա․ խոտը տանեմ կովին տամ, կովը ինձ կաթ տա․ կաթը տանեմ պառավին տամ, պառավը պոչս տա, կցեմ, կցմցեմ, գնամ ընկերներիս հասնեմ, որ ինձ չասեն՝ պոչատ աղվես, ո՞րտեղ էիր։

I’ll take the jug to the spring, the spring will give me water, I’ll take the water to the field, the field will give me grass, I’ll take the grass to the cow, the cow will give me milk, I’ll take the milk to the old woman, the old woman will give me my tail, I’ll stick it on, I’ll patch it up, and I’ll go catch up with my friends so they won’t say to me: “Tailless fox, where were you?”

Կալվորի մեղքը գալիս է, մի բուռն կուտ է տալի։ Աղվեսը կուտը տանում է հավին, հավը ձու է տալի․ ձուն տանում է չարչուն, չարչին ուլունք է տալի․ ուլունքը տանում է աղջկան, աղջիկը կուժ է տալի․ կուժը տանում է աղբյուրին, աղբյուրը ջուր է տալի․ ջուրը տանում է արտին, արտը խոտ է տալի․ խոտը տանում է կովին, կովը կաթ է տալի․ կաթը տանում է տալի պառավին, պառավը պոչը տալիս է իրեն․ կցում է, կցմցում, վազում է գնում, իր ընկերներին հասնում։

English:
The thresher took pity on him and gave him a handful of grain. The fox took the grain to the hen, and the hen gave him an egg. He took the egg to the merchant, and the merchant gave him beads. He took the beads to the girl, and the girl gave him a jug. He took the jug to the spring, and the spring gave him water. He took the water to the field, and the field gave him grass. He took the grass to the cow, and the cow gave him milk. He took the milk to the old woman, and the old woman gave him his tail. He stuck it on, he patched it up, and ran off, catching up with his friends.
